One thing we spent a lot of time talking about was the exodus of fans from the sport who aren't right wing. It didn't much make it into this, but it's worth pointing out MMA is in a very different place from where it used to be when it's telling big groups of fans it doesn't want them any more.
I love the sport and I’ve been watching it since I was 13-14. As someone who’s very left wing and finds myself in those circles I’ve stopped telling people I’m a fan of MMA since it now brings a certain connotation of my political beliefs (even though it isn’t accurate). I still watch every event but instead of watching with friends I’m just watching by myself most of the time now
Very glad to see you getting these kinds of opportunities!
A tattooed Marine with “body for days” visually fits into what these young men think of as Alpha. (A term only the most beta dudes would ever use.) Your voice is important, LT. Thank you for having the courage of your convictions.
I'm an avowed leftie, and I'm kind of embarrassed to talk openly about my love of MMA. They've most definitely driven me a bit away: I used to watch each and every event, and now I can barely stand the PPVs.
I'm watching grappling matches and Muay Thai, instead. Go Mika Galvao!
I would really like to hear more of this interview. I've watched MMA for 20 years & I just can't any more. I'm really glad you're out there being a role model who doesn't hate women!
I'm one of those left leaning fans but they will never drive me away, I've been watching since you had to rent the VHS at Blockbuster and Dana had hair, but I'd be lying if I said this odd obsession with Trump isn't off putting. I always found it funny that fighters will surround themselves with world class coaches, equipments and gyms, and have other world class fighters to spar with, but then they say it all their hard work and nothing else that got them where they are and that's totally on brand for Trump.
Awesome job, Luquito. I like many others wish we had access to the full sit-down, but I understand how it works. I’m looking forward to you getting more opportunities as a result!

Does the right connect with Volk’s “adversity is my privilege” message? I do wonder what happens in those moments.
Great work.

Great work. Happy to see you get more exposure. Hopefully this leads to more and longer interviews with main stream media.
