I wonder how Markwayne Mullin will vote when the bill to kill the Ali Act hits the senate. I mean, we know what he'll do... I hope he feels ashamed when he does it.
Luke - quick correction. Scientist did not "bring back direwolves". They made 20 changes to 15 different genes in grey wolves, a species that aren't descendats nor direct relatives to direwolves. This is not the same. They simply made something that is direwolf appearing. They technically created a new species. I think it's important to realize that this private company is using this to drive funding and interest as oppose to being honest about their science.
Luke - I'm curious to hear more of your thoughts on the Rolling Stone article regarding Abundance. I haven't read the book yet, but it's on my short list. Hearing Klein's interview with Jon Stewart, he seems to adequately highlight a problem with how the process of governmental oversight can interfere with public projects, but the criticisms leveled in the article - about not adequately highlighting the role of corporate money has in the problem - also seem to be fair.
So while both major U.S. political parties are undoubtably guilty of accepting large amounts corporate money and that deserves to have a light shown on it, this seems to be an example of highlighting two separate, but intricately intertwined problems.

I'm here for it all, Luke. As an Australian it's interesting to have someones perspective from the States broadcasted like this.
Thanks.
This is awesome! Kind of reminds me of Morning Brew’s daily morning newsletter.
